Favorite clothes is about supporting someone in a relationship that's going through different emotional difficulties than you. Sometimes it can be so hard to be there for somebody. These lyrics wrestle with how the dynamics between two people can be stressed by the implications of anxiety or depression. "it's so hard to have someone to love"
